We are starting to use right brain education to our son

Thats really nice that you bought Memory Magic. But i think they have 2 cd’s.Which one you got?Have used memory magic???How it is?? How do you recommend to us???

Sapna

Hi Sapna,

I haven’t received the CD yet and I bot the Deluxe one. The thing that triggers me to buy is their “silly story” game. This is a powerful method to remember a lot of information in order, and I would like my kids to have this training. I hope they will like it!

Teresa

Thanks dear. But i think even Wink has the same silly stories.

Sapna

Oh, really? I didn’t know! Let me check it out. Thanks for letting me know!

This is really attractive. Besides just viewing the DVD’s, what other things do we need to do to help speed up the kids’ right brain training?

Hello baby 1,

There are lots you can do to stimulate right brain. When babies are using their subconscious minds (when they are quietly playing, crawling or sleepy), teaching them by using physical flash cards, playing classical music or flash card DVDs will strengthen their right brains. There is a very good article about crawling in the Brillbaby Resource. Take a look!

I know a few members in this forum have experiences in Tweedlewink / Twink DVDs. I have bought Tweedlewink package myself. (6 DVDs cost US 179.95) Played the first CD and already was quite disappointed for the voice is quite soft and the picture images are small and not very clear. i.e. For Body parts, Neck - The pic image was a Boy, a small Box is highlighted at his neck area to represent the word. But the image is so small. Further more, when they teach about i.e. Solar System, they read the words but do not show any text. Can anyone share with me if you have these problems? I am quite upset & feel cheated for they are quite expensive and i would expect a better video quality and presentation.

Memory Magic - please, any recommendations / reviews from those who have bought this DVD? I am thinking of getting this DVD as well

Hi fruityfruit8. I believe there is a separate forum for the Tweedlewink/Twink DVDs - here is the link: http://forum.brillkids.com/product-discussions-and-reviews/wink-and-tweedle-wink-program/msg17270/?topicseen

I think the claim (e.g. soft voice & no words when illustrating the solar system) about the Tweedlewink DVD is right but I won’t take it as a bad thing. Children absorb what they see quickly, and I am focusing on result. The sharing that I made about my son’s developmental leap is a solid proof that the DVD is making an impact

I have recently bot “Your Baby can Read” because I have heard that it’s also a very good one. Haven’t received the DVD yet but will definitely share the result

Haven’t tried the Memory Magic CD yet. Got it last week!

Teresa

I think of getting the Memory Magic DVD also, but hope to get more advices.
Besides, I’m quite interested in WINK to LEARN Chinese DVD Set, any suggestions if anyone had bought them??

Wah so many products. Is it the cheapest is LR?

Is it a good idea I start off with LR first if my baby likes it then I move on to other products. Which should try first, YBCR or TweedleWink ?

our baby starts with YBCR. I guess it helped her with a good start. She (age 5) is reading Roald Dahl and Enid Blyton books now.

The two programs are quite different. YBCR focus on introducing words to your child. Tweedlewink focuses on right brain training which is more on flashcards.

just my two cents worth.

Just read this from a blog about ‘perfect pitch’, and would like to share:

‘It tracks a musical child prodigy, Marc Yu, through his remarkable progress in the world of classical music. At age two, little Marc could bang out “Mary had a little lamb” on the piano after listening to the tune once. At three, he gave his first public performance on the piano, performing a Beethoven piece. And at seven, he is able to play 40 pieces of classical music from memory. It is truly extroardinary to listen to him play an exquisite Chopin nocturne that would have stumped a teenager who is twice his age and of normal intelligence, with a bit more practice under his belt. As the boy genius puts it gleefully: “I like the difficult pieces, especially when my teacher says no.” It also turns out that he has perfect pitch (industry insiders will know this is a very rare talent), which he was born with, not taught. Only one in 10,000 people have it.’

My son was exposed to the ‘perfect pitch’ training when he watches the DVDs. Every time he will voice out the piano pitch and I am amazed how accurate it is! At age 2, he is interested in all sorts of musical instruments. Now, he knows how to play a 1-tone harmony with 2 keys on the piano. Moreover, he already has a concept of an orchestra. I saw him gathering toys that play music, turn them all on while he plays the toy guitar.

Kids never cease to amaze us!

Wow amazing Teresa!!!.You know i have been inspired my u a lot a lot.You always have something or the other to keep me motivated for my son’s learning.THANKS A LOT TERESA

You are most welcome! It’s a joy to share our children’s success! lol

He is remarkable. I saw him on the TV here in Holland.

karma to you teresa for everything you’ve shared on this subject - you’re an inspiration!

I have a question? how can you tell if your toddler is a left brain or a right brain,Im curious of what my son is can you tell me thanks?

All young children should be right brained up until the age of 6 or so.

Hi everyone,

Some sharing…

I have got ‘Your Baby Can Read’ DVD and play card set for a month and I tried it with my kids. My 4 1/2 old loves it and she can recognize the words real quick (the phonics lesson that she has from school helps, and this is one reason why she loves the DVD!!) My 2 1/2 years old son likes it too although he’s slower in recognizing the words. My 7 months old baby doesn’t like it…

This is a more left-brained lesson. It focuses on repetition. You are required to play the same DVD 2 times per day for 1 whole month before you can move on to another lesson. Personally I prefer developing the right brains for kids when they are at these young age, because this is the time when they can absorb lots of information like a sponge using their right brains. Having this ‘skill’ will benefit them for a life time. Well, since my daughter loves it and she can learn quick from it, I guess the DVD also has a good market. lol

I have recently signed up for tips from Child Genius Minds at http://childgeniusminds.com/. I would recommend it to everyone because it has lots of interesting tips for higher IQ for kids. Check it out!
