Library - all links

I have Greg Tang’s Math for All Season and the Grapes of Math. Both are excellent supplements. You don’t need them, but they are fun and NOT dry.

Hi all,

I would like to share this fantastic site with tales in spanish with all of you. The best of all is that children can see the words appearing at the same time the storyteller speaks. Great to learn to read in spanish!

I hope you enjoy it.

Thanks for sharing!

I am only reposting a link published by ShenLi in another thread - all the credit/karma goes to ShenLi!

"Another thing you can do […] is to play audio stories. Learn Out Loud has a lot you can download - some are free. http://kids.learnoutloud.com/ "

A friend sent me this link. I haven’t checked out the game as its only out for MAC right now, but I thought it was still worth putting in our library of links. MAC users let me know if its good.

I took a brief look, but it is about wizardly and magic, not something I want to introduce my kids to, could not see in which way it s educational. May be I did not look at the right place though

Very nice! Thank you!

Just stumble across this thread. It’s a brilliant comprehensive list of resources I didn’t know before!

Many thanks!

Not sure whether this has been posted before I found this children ebook website I think is brilliant -

Came across this link. Good for reading practice and encyclopaedic knowledge, and comes with audio and teacher guide.

Thats gr8! Thanks…

In my quest to find an online-library that admits online ebook readers or audio consumers (http://forum.brillkids.com/general-discussion-b5/need-yr-help-borrow-an-e-book-e-audio-online-in-an-english-speaking-e-library/msg101938/?topicseen#new) I was given a very nice link by a librarian that I would like to share with everybody:

Tumblebook Library - ebooks for kids! "“Read-Along Books combine adjustable text and color with complete narration and sentence by sentence highlighting.”

There are lots of early learning programs available in the internet. I want my daughter to learn how to read at an early age and so I searched what’s best for her. Experts recommend starting with phonemic sounds. I found at http://educationalfun.com a reading program that is both fun and effective in teaching children at an early age learn how to read. You can check this program and use it in teaching your child how to read while having fun.

there are lots of sites which offer e books. the following is one of the links that i came across, which offers a variety of story books for different age groups.

http://storytimeforme.com/
Hope its helpful to all of you. Some of them are totally free.
One other site that i came across is http://www.abcmouse.com/ … they offer a variety of activities.
They offer a reading curriculum plus math, art, colors and also music.
and there is an advantage of this.you can subscribe freely for one month and later onwards pay for it if it is good enough for you. You get the chance to experience it

Hope both of these links are helpful

I was going to post a link to OxfordOwl but I see someone got there before me! Love that site!

Another fantastic phonics based site is www.literactive.com. I’m a primary teacher and use it all the time with the younger classes. They love it and it’s so easy to use. You’ll need a flash browser (like Puffin) if you’re using it on an iPad though.
