Yoga resources

My daughter has down syndrome and we do not have any physical therapy right now, so I thought some yoga exercies would be good. Does any know of something you would recommend?

Hi  ,

Until someone will share info about yoga exercises for your daughter, why don’t you look at “Teaching Your Child Basic Body Confidence”, by Patty Carmichael Gerard, founder of PlayWisely and Sparkabilities method ? I have found out about it in the PlayWisely site at recommended reading (http://www.playwisely.com/Documents/More%20Reading.pdf)

You can find the book here: http://www.abebooks.com/Teaching-Child-Basic-Body-Confidence-Patty/1157444948/bd.
I bought it and it’s great, in my opinion. It’s a good start for you child too, I think.

Yoga is good andthereis advd set called Yoga Kids aimed at3 year olds. I would also recommend Doman’s book on Physical superbness. That is really good or maybe enroll her in gymnastics class or gymbaroo or gymboree.

Thanks for the ideas. I should have added that she is 2 years old and not walking yet. But she is reading.

Thanks,

Sandy
