My child is 1 y and 1moth old.When I visit my dentist she said that my baby is old enough to take away her pacifier.But my girl likes chewing her pacifier.Also she still has growing teeth and she is chewing everything aroud if she is not with pacifier.Please give me advice.
Our girl decided she does not want pacifier during the day at 5 months and then 2 weeks later she decided she would not take it during the night… It was her idea, and in some way solved the question when to take it away. So I would not have much advice here. Excerpt, once they start talking it probably can be a hinderance, so that would be the time to consider taking it away. Just a thought…
I started limiting it to only at sleep times when my son was 12 months or so. The doctor said it wouldn’t mess up his teeth as long as it was an orthodontic paci and he didn’t have it in his mouth all day. We totally took it away at a year.
