When did you start teaching your baby to read?

Hi guys! I used little reader with my first born with great success. I can’t remember exactly when I started but probably around 4-6 months mark. Now I wonder when I should start the reading program with my newborn. When did you first introduce your baby to flash Cards?

I also started my 2 boys around the 6 month mark before I found out about Brillkids. We used Glenn Doman and Your Baby Can Learn methods.
I plan on starting my 3rd son as a newborn though. You can do black and white ‘blob’ cards, Dot Math cards, and I plan on flashing simple phonetics (not ABC names but using the sounds they make) until he is able to start on words at 3 months. Usually its harder to get a baby or toddler to be interested in Math so I decided to start with it first along with phonetics.

I started exploring with my twins when they were six months old. I used the Doman flash cards, dot cards, and available online resources. What I learned from them in the process is that they love to learn, which they continue even today at 5 years, which is great. Early learning goes a long way in nurturing love of education

We used the “How Smart is Your Baby” book for initial ideas. So we started with those black and white cards at birth. We moved on to word type cards and Little reader at around 4 months. Around one we started adding in a bunch of other programs as well. This kind of summarizes what we did:

I have a new little one who is 10 months now and it is hard to remember everything we did and in what order with the older ones. I’m glad that we at least did videos so I can remember where we were on the journey at different times.

I’m a stay at home mom with 2 kids. I’m teaching my son how to read and write. To save from papers and pens, my husband made me an application and my son and I enjoyed using it! Kindly check the website http://www.thumbkinlabs.com/

Same here. I had started within 9th or 10th month, approx.

Hi mums and dads,

this is always an interesting question and the video on this page maybe worth your while.

Just before my daughter eva was turning two, we wrote down each word that she can speak (733 words exactly) & another list of words which she could read ( this was a very tiny list )…

Anyways, parenthood is always challenging & rewarding. There’s no right time to start teaching. Just do what feels right!

here’s a video you can watch to answer some questions:

I have a boy named Sam. Oddly, he was “reading” Green Eggs and Ham at about two. All the way through. Here’s a hint, keep reading to your children and don’t force the pace. Kids like to know things. Before you know it they will be reading on their own. They will teach themselves. But still, read to them.
