We as parents, what do you expect from your child to accomplish in preschool?
High quality preschool is a huge benefit to every child. Children learn more from birth to age 3 than in their entire life. High quality preschool is probably the best education your child will ever receive. Many public and private schools are still teaching as if it were the 1950’s. The only thing a child learns from doing worsheets all day is how to do a worsksheet. Where is the creativity, the problem solving, the individuality, We expect the medical professionals to look for new methods of healing, find new cures, and keep abreast of new technology. The educational system should be constantly revising itself, not doing the same thing over and over again. If you want to be an involved parent, then fight for educational reform and reseach what early childhood education really is. To build a better community, it has to begin with your child’s education. 
I agree with Zaku and with high cost of education today,education system must evolve too,I hope government and no government concern must focus about this matter specially in public schools,although we will try to send our child to the best school,but private schools are very expensive and not sure if the child can learn much at the end of pre-school.
I have only child and he doesn’t get much interaction with other kids his age, other than maybe at the park. I am sending him to preschool next month so he learns structure and social interaction, two things he doesn’t really have at home.
