Hearing about Little Musician made me wonder what others are doing about music during the preschool years. I haven’t really done much formally, we just sing songs, and I let him play on the piano, encouraging individual finger use rather than just the whole hand (I figure it helps with fine motor skills too). My son (age 4 with DS) does love music and learns well through it (songs to encourage sound production, learning letter sounds, etc.). I’ve kind of thought of it as a tool for learning other things up until now, but started wondering if I should think more about teaching music itself.
I’m not doing nearly as much as I would like. We have done some basic notes & their sounds, listened to different composers & played with a fee instruments, but that is it.
I’m patiently waiting for Little Music & hoping they have a great introductory deal lol
