It has been months that we are on a sight-reading program and I was wondering when we could start Cammie on letter phonics. At 1-year, 3-months old, I braved the feat. Just after 4 or 5 days, Cammie knows ALL 26 letters of the alphabet and can sound about 70% of them! We didn’t expect she would learn that fast, especially I didn’t even know she could produce certain sounds like “X” and “Z”.
We had two 10-15 minute lessons every day. We watched Leapfrog Letter Factory, watched a customized alphabet playlist on Little Reader and sound the letters during meal-times and play-times. We both had lots and fun!
In this video, she sounded 5 or more letters and got distracted because I was too slow to show out the magnetic letters. Nevertheless, we were impressed!
