UCMAS Mental Math School, anyone?

I am wondering if anyone has enrolled their children to UCMAS. There are a few locations close to my house.
Does the program work? How do you like or dislike it?

They are accepting students aged 4-13. My son is only 3 but if this is a good mental math program using abacus, I would like to prepare him for this school when he turns 4.

Thanks,

From what I was told by an colleague of my husbands from Egypt, UCMAS has branches all over the world. Did you see their main website?: http://www.ucmas.com/

If we lived near a center, I would enroll children. However, since we don’t, we will use an at home program and software with my children.

Please let us know how it goes if you enroll.

Ayesha Nicole ,

Yes I will share my experience if I enroll my son to their program.

Hi Mae_Jakob_Ka,

I’ve met the founder of the program in Canada a few years ago. From what I know, his program is designed to teach abacus from addition to multiplication over the course of a few years and then you graduate the program. I dont know if thats what you’re looking for but Soroban can be so much more than just a way to learn the basics of math.

Take a look at this video to see an example of how “good” someone can get.
