Okay so my first pregnancy with my daughter, I was sick the ENTIRE first 4.5 months of it. non stop every day and at night as well throwing up, dry heaves, getting dehydrated the whole 9 yards right. I would do it all in a heart beat don’t get me wrong, she came out all full of black hair like daddy but curly like mine and healthy as a baby could be! My husband and I were finally able to have sex again 2 months and 2 weeks after she was born. EXACTLY. and now we are pregnant all over again. But this time with twins. Last time the sickness started just before I was 2 weeks pregnant, this time I am almost a month and a half and no sickness yet THANK YOU GOD. Has anyone else out there had totally different pregnancies? I know for sure not every one is the same, however my mother in law had 5 kids and had pretty much the same pregnancy experience with each one. I would hate to have my head in the toilet like last time, my daughter does not sleep a lot during the day and loves to play. I have thrown up once so far for about a minute that’s it. Anybody else out there care to share?
Yes, it is very normal! It was the same with my 3 pregnancies and with dozens of woman I took care during their pregnancies. Sometimes woman has pretty much the same experience, but it is not that common. My 2 first pregnancies were different as might and day, the 3rd one was very similar with the 2nd.
Congratulations on your twins!
Wow, so how were your pregnancies? Were they close together? Thank you so much It was kind of a shocker lol. But were excited and were looking at the peg perego triple stroller, the one where you can switch the positions of the seats.
Yes, the first 2 were 17 months apart!
I’ve actually been surprised at how similar my pregnancies have all been. This is the only one that made me throw up, but overall it’s been my best. 5 pregnancies, all relatively easy with births that keep getting better. But they have all done a number on my teeth, so I didn’t get away scotch free. Congratulations on your twins! How exciting, I’m a little jealous.
17 months wow! congrats!. Thank you Tamsyn. 5 pregnancies WOW! Kudos to you!! Why jealous ? you have had 5 beautiful pregnancies I’m a little jealous haha. To be honest, I’m afraid of a few things with this pregnancy but the excitement is over ruling the nervousness. I’m surprised out of your pregnancies this is the only one making you throw up. DOUBLE JEALOUS!! Then with births that keep getting better TRIPLE JEALOUS! lol
I’ve just always wanted twins, that’s all. Blame it on Anne of Green Gables. lol
Haha, true true. I never expected to have twins, nobody in my family has ever had twins. Nor on my husbands side. This is will be exciting, our daughter is only almost 4 months old and we already have an outfit for her that says older sister
Tamsyn, me too  – I always wanted to have twins!
With me I hardly had any morning sickness with last 2 pregnancies ( and really really bad one with the 1st), I was on the bedrest for 4 months with 1st pregnancy ( the longest 4 months in my life!) and had to fly half way across the world for a specialized care to just be able to keep it ( it was nothing but a miracle as I look back) and with the next two I hiked up the mountain, walked miles, traveled extensively and worked delivering babies ( hard hard work physically with odd hours and all) all the way till I was 42 weeks pregnant… So they were really different to say the least. Overall I loved being pregnant and giving birth – I always treasured these times, there is something magical about it, every time I think back!
All three of ours were water babies ( born in the water) and as I look back, few discomforts and challenges during pregnancies and births are far outweighed by how beautiful the experiences were overall and of course by a result
Oh WOW!!! I hope this pregnancy is like your last couple! I am by far impressed!!! I was thinking about water birth for Aria, our daughter but I ended up chickening out. I could not agree more about it being beautiful though! I have to say being in labor for 20 hours with back labor, pelvic labor, and normal was horrible and my epideral failed twice! the first time was right after the patossin and I felt everything, then they got it back working two hours before pushing (4 hours later), then it failed again 30 minutes after they got it back and I pushed her out without the epideral but man I wouldn’t change a thing! she was beautiful healthy and my husband and I were so happy!
All mine are water babies too and I’m planning on it again in March.
For what it’s worth, my first delivery was by far the hardest for me. I would rather re-do the last 3 labors again than his. There wasn’t any real complications except that I tore and was really bruised, and I had no idea what to expect so I didn’t manage labor as well as I could have. I really think that the first baby paves the way for the other children. Think of blowing up a balloon. The first time you may have to blow really hard, but if you let the air out and blow it up again, the balloon has already been stretched once and “knows” what to do. It isn’t just your brain that learns from your first child, it’s your body too. Naturally there are a lot of things that can be different about different labors, but as a general rule I think this holds true.
I’m sorry you had to be on bedrest, Skylark. At least it was during your first and you didn’t have to get a baby sitter. If I had to go on bedrest now, I don’t know what I would do.
I am sorry your first birth was hard. I like the balloon analogy, I told that one to my husband. I definitely agree about your body learning as well, It’s crazy I’ve never been so happy to gain weight and have stretch marks hahaha.
Skylark, if I may ask, why did you half to fly to get specialized care? All children are miracles and I am very happy that everything went well with you and the baby
For both of you, Is water births really amazing? As I said I chickened out about it. I became afraid that something might go wrong I don’t know. I would like to try it, my husband thinks so too. I think he’d be more freaked out than me though. haha Were your husbands really worried during pregnancy and labor? Mine could not sit still and he didn’t know what to do with himself, he just kept saying sorry. He’s a marine and he cried when she was born. I grabbed the camera and took pictures of that!!! Lol
Thank you for your sharing, my baby will be born next month.

This is my first pregnancy so I don’t have but my sister experienced this. Her two pregnancies are different.
I have come to realize that every pregnancy can be completely different for one person and it is okay!
