hi everybody,

I picked up 4 sets of the total development program for kids and I must say I am very impressed with the products. I also thought like other parents that I can get information from various places etc. But to be truthful, I didnt even know that there is so much to know in the first place. Its like your childs library at home. I was a book lover as a kid and was thrilled whn my dad got me the set of britannica’s. I cherish them till date. Its the same company.I think the products are very relevant. We cant deny the fact that the schools wont be able to give individual attention to every child in the class. The onus is always on the parents. The kids will definately love the books. The materials, especially the knowledge series can be used untill the age of 14. The product is very well researched.I know its expensive but when i look at it as a long term investment, it seems worth it.And also, I would be happy if my child uses his energy doing all the fun stuff mentioned in the book rather than wailing of his time watching tv. Even if he wants to watch tv, All the dvds and vcds which are a part of this product are really very good to be used. Its better than mindless stuff that they watch. The pc game dvds are also very good and insightful.incase any parent wants to know more about it, please let me know. I would be glad to help out.

oops… i find it very costly… :frowning:

I bought the Child’s First Library of Learning for my son when he was 5. He absolutely loved it. I got it from the second hand book market which cost less than 5% of the original price. So,do look out for Amazon or ebay if you don’t mind getting used books for your child.

I tried a lot to get them second hand but could not. Also, lot of additions have been made to the materials. There are monthly options available. You can look at taking the EMI route for the same. It isnt too costly if you want to buy one set at a time. EMI starts from as low as 1200 rs.

What age are the kids you are using it with?
Please keep posting as you continue using it.

My son is 9m old…dont know what he understands. But he gets so excited whnever I show him the animals book. He loves walter.

Hello smdhas,

I am interested in purchasing the total development program. Please mail me at poornima277@gmail.com

Thanks,
Poorni

I bought just the child’s library of learning books on amazon and my son loves them. They are in a question answer format. Like in the “Our bodies” book the question might be “Why do your teeth fall out?” and then two pages with pictures and answers and then a little section for the parent. I got an amazing deal though I got maybe 20 books for $25 plus 4$ shipping

HI I am interested in taking up your books. Can you please mail me or call me on 98496-12125. I am currently in Hyderabad.

Regards,
Chaitanya

Hi,

I’ve seen the presentation and got the pricing. It is very much the same what Khush has indicated. I feel it’s over priced and after spending so much can we be sure that we don’t need any other books for our kids. I’ve not come across any program which costs INR 6000.

Best,

Nabonita

Hi,

I have two query.
a. It is told that infant should be presented one picture at a time. but in total development program in knowledge pack many pages have many pictures - so would it cause confusion rather than clarity.
b. would walter decrease the child’s interest to read but wishes to listen rather than read.

Regards

Thank you

I have been using the whole set of Timelife books for my DS even since he was 2 months old. The set is expensive but I believe it’s value for money. You can use it till the time your child is 14 years old and if you have more than 1 child, your other child will also use it over a time. They have a lot of material and especially the Knowledge series is just awesome. I look at it as an investment over a period of 15 years.

I haven’t started with the English, Maths and other series with my son. I just read the Knowledge books and the story books. My son absolutely loves it. The walter also helps him in hearing the correct pronounciation. There are a couple of audio DVDs which you can play while your child is playing with the toys. This way, he/she hears lots of words which help in building vocabulary.

Having said that, the set is not exhaustive. You’ll still need to use it in addition to flashcards, other story books, DVDs etc… since each product has a differnt purpose.

If you have the resources, I would recommend at least the Knowledge series to everyone.

Hi,

This was a useful discussion for me.
