Tip from the deaf community - hands on vocal chords

I wanted to share this tip, because it helps our boy with enunciating tricky words dramatically (i.e. ladybug vs. lageybug).

When you introduce a new word, or hard to pronounce word, try putting your little one’s hand (or back of their hand) on your throat and under-chin area so they can feel the vibration of the word as you say it.

It will go a long way in helping them enunciate.

Interesting tip, we’ll give it a shot! Thanks for sharing.

Interesting!

I read about similar technique in Pamela Hickein Book " Right Brain Education: Changing the World, One Heart at a Time"
Quote from the book :
"Hold the Flashcard with letter “M” on it. This is “M”, it says ‘mmm’. Can You say ‘mmm’? Mary asks, looking directly at the babies. She waits a moment. “Good. I am going to ask mommies to say ‘mmm’ with you this time, cheek to cheek, so you can feel how it sounds” You bend down and press your cheek to your baby’s cheek. "Mmm,“you say, feeling the sound form with your lips.”

I highly recommend Pamela’s book to anyone interested in Right Brain Education.

This is really interesting! Thanks mom2ross and Nadia.

I am going to try this out with my little ones.

Interesting idea - I’m going to try it! Karma to you.
