teaching math

Children begin to count on their own as they grow, and they learn from everyday experiences with length, quantity, time, temperature, money, and more. Through hands-on activities, children expand their true understanding of math. Adults should recognize that games such as sorting and putting objects in sequence are actually early experiments in math, even if they don’t look much like geometry!

Here are some everyday opportunities for children to begin thinking about numbers:http://www.kidsource.com/kidsource/content4/math.myth.html

thank for this interesting article

I was just wondering, is it possible to teach kids math and reading at the same time? How do I divide the time so that they are not overwhelmed? I would love to teach my s4-year old boy math and reading.

Yes, it is possible! Many of us do it here. You just have to divide the time between the both, and make sure that your child is enjoying everything. If not, you may want to do less of each or take a different approach.

Thanks very much!! Will do that.
