Teaching Kids & Teens About Money

Dear All,

Many years ago, I was fortunate enough to attend one of Dave Ramsey’s Financial Peace University courses. He has many great principles for building wealth. And he also teaches the next generation how to be responsible with money. I plan to use the FPU-Jr. kit for teaching Sarah & Salma about the basics of earning, saving, donating, and spending money wisely. Enjoy his resources below:

Dear All,

I caught the Dr. Phil show today, and it was about parents being in debt because of their children.

There was a special guest, Susan Beachem, who created the “Money Savvy Pig” piggy bank that gives the children the choice to either: save/spend/donate/invest. It is really cool and has even won an award.

And what I liked the most is what she says about why we should teach our children to be smart about money: “A parent is the most influential teacher in a child’s life - especially when it comes to money. If you want to instill good money habits in your children, and are looking for help, Money Savvy Generation offers parents a creative, child-friendly educational program that teaches personal finance basics in a fun, approachable way to ensure that the learning sticks.”
