Teaching a child to read in two different languages?

I am amazed at how well educated all of you are in literacy, so… I wanted to ask if it is confusing to a child to learn to read in 2 different languages at the same time.

I speak both English and Spanish at home but have been careful not to show “print” in spanish thinking that it way be confusing. What are your experiences and thoughts on this?

Thanks!

Thanks!

I have spoken two different languages English and Spanish and I love to spoke in Spanish.

Children who are brought up in bi-lingual homes often have separate times and activities for the 2 languages.

For example you may play with your child in Spanish, but speak English while you are feeding him.

Later he can have books and stories you can read in both languages. It is important in the beginning to have quite separate zones for the different languages.
