Supplement to Signing Times

I have been using Signing Times with my daughter since she was around 5 months old. Now that she is 21 months she has over 100 signs in her vocabulary. I love the videos but I am looking for something from which I can learn and fill in the empty spots… Example: yesterday my daughter saw a worm and the park and signed “snake.” I know there are several different sites with online ASL dictionaries but I have heard that they are not all reliable/ accurate. Can anyone reccommend a good site or other source of information? It is our intention to continue signing with our daughter as a second language. Thank you for the guidance!

First videos of ASL i got were seen and sign, they were really cheap, but those videos are not that fun like ST, but I personal learn a lot of those videos too,( I watched them, my daughter didn’t…because tv issues)so I learned from them and then I tought my daughter.
Recently we got ST but she doesn’t seem really interested. :mellow:

Maybe this web page can help you abit. :slight_smile:

I know the Signing Time website has a forum also. I have used it a few times to ask what certain words were.

Thank you all for the guidance! The Baby Hands Dictionary is a real find!!!

Way cool website. Thanks for posting this. It’s just what I was looking for.

Thank you all for your help and taking the time to point me to these great sites! They have already been a help!!!

Good Luck!

Thanks for everyone’s suggestions! Great list!

I have this site bookmarked:
http://commtechlab.msu.edu/sites/aslweb/browser.htm

And have been known to run into my home office in the middle of dinner to look up something! Though they don’t have broccoli or asparagus… it can be a bit frustrating when you child is asking what something is.

Thank you… I do like the ASL Browser site!

I really appreciate everyone’s responses and look forward to learning more from each site!

This is an excellent website - it has finger spelling/alphabet as well as
* Numbers
* Colors
* Animals
* U.S. States
* World Geography
* Baby Signs
You can even create your own word list so you can easily go back to it when you need it - but of course, you have to register :tongue:

Thank you and karma to you!
