Stuart Brown: Why play is vital?

Stuart Brown’s research shows play is not just joyful and energizing – it’s deeply involved with human development and intelligence.

A pioneer in research on play, Dr. Stuart Brown says humor, games, roughhousing, flirtation and fantasy are more than just fun. Plenty of play in childhood makes for happy, smart adults – and keeping it up can make us smarter at any age

I would absolutely agree with that.

For those of us who are keen on teaching our children, let’s make sure we never forget to always give them a big dose of play time!

Thanks for sharing!! One can easily forget that learning goes beyond the classroom and this is a great reminder of that

Stuart suggests that we are meant to be happier being playful all the time; rather than just claim that play at early age prepares us for success in adulthood.

Thats quite radical. though. How nice a world it would be if it were to be more playful.

It would be more productive too… Would you think so?
