I used to think nature was a lot more important the nurture when it came to intelligence but over time I know that nurture is also an important part of the puzzle. Here are two articles that talk about the importance of nurture. One talks about research showing that nurture is equally as important as nurture for intellegence and another where scientists say that math knowledge in 1st grade plays a big role in what they know later and how IQ was not the most important factor. I wish I could go back with my oldest and not listen to everyone say that all a toddler and preschooler needs to do is play and academics is not important and I wish I knew about this forum back at the beginning of my parenting journey. It makes sense looking at other things like how well Asians score and how kids who are around a lot of talking have better vocabularies but a lot out there claimed that IQ was mainly genetic. I know there are a lot more articles out there about this but these ones were really interesting.
