Screen exposure for 10-month old...good or bad?

Hi everyone, I’m new to the site and am considering between making reading and math flash cards vs using the software available through this site for our 10-month old baby. How have people approached using computer screens for infants and toddlers? Would love to weigh pros and cons before choosing a path.

Thanks!

Hi,

I have checked with my family eye specialist and he says it is OK to use the iPad or any computer screen. It does not spoil the eyes.

My sister got the Brillkids reading program, math program and rightbraineducationlibrary.com (for her Shichida flashcard practice) a few years ago.
I don’t see any problem with her daughter. In fact my sister’s daughter is doing very well and that is the reason I am joining brillkids and also the right braineducationlibrary.

I taught two kids to read as babies and I feel that screens are invaluable. I used Brillkids with my second and it was very effective. I also made PowerPoint slides. YouTube videos like these were also very helpful - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BbS7KfgZ30s, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fJ1n-1sGvPY, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E9NJu3IciBU. You don’t need to do much every day. Fifteen to 20 minutes is plenty.

If you decide to let your baby or toddler play with device, try keeping it to 15 or 20 minutes, when their attention is likely to fade anyway. Be ready with something new and interesting to do next.
