Scientists can predict language delays

I came across this article in YouTube. A scientist studying baby brainwaves discovered that early talkers had stronger gamma waves in their brains. And late talkers had weak ones.

Interesting! Hmm… I wonder how multilingual children’s gamma waves will look like? Children exposed to 2 or more languages tend to be late speakers but later on catch up and even surpass their peers.

Isn’t this rather “chicken or egg”? I mean what if talking early, or the stimulation that leads to it causes those waves?

I see communication as a function of nurture, rather than nature…

That said, how do I increase them? Or whatever the “better” is?
