schedule for a 13 month boy

i am a part time working mom, who is desperate to teach her son. my son is very active and doesn’t seem to pay attention to anything other than YBCR, that also only when he is eating (in front of comp, I know, i know, it is bad, but what to do   )
i have tried showing him flash cards and books too, nothing seems to b working.
Can anyone please suggest a schedule that i can follow. my work can b easily adjusted, so a good one will be ok.
maybe even a schedule that has worked for you.
Thanks in advance

It’s very hard to suggest something that will work for your child. Every child is different. I suggest you keep trying different things and find what he likes. Have you tried Little Reader?

I have found the best time to teach is when your child has just woken up, after a diaper change, during a bath or while they are eating. It is the job of these little critters to explore and discover everything about there world so you only have a short time to teach them and you have to be quick. I changed my baby on my bed amd kept piles of materials in my dresser. After a diaper change we would flip through some of my homemade word books and some flash cards. It would take a minute or two. In the bath we used foam bath letters to make words or I would even show some flash cards while they bathed. When they are eating you can show cards of words that have to do with what they are eating.

My kids have always been captivated by the television and I found that to be a great way to show them stuff. I made my own reading videos for my kids using the retired words and they loved to watch this a couple times a week.

We have a line of DVDs that teach babies to read and recognize their body parts, first words, colors and shapes. You can see a sample here. http://monkisee.com/monkisee_baby_dvds.html Just click on any of the titles and you can view a sample clip and see if your baby enjoys them. Parents tell us their babies love the videos, the music and the puppets. That might be a good choice for your baby.

We also have some free online flash cards to teach your baby to read. There are many categories and each one is about a minute in length. You can check them out at http://www.memoflix.com.

we also created a video guide that answers any and every question you can possibly have about teaching your baby to read. It gives you ideas for schedules and games you can play to encourage early learning. You can see that here http://www.intellbaby.com/A_Guide_To_Teaching_Babies_To_Read.html
