Raising Intelligent Children

You might find these videos interesting.

“I think one of the problems [with raising intelligent children] is compulsory schooling…and that children are sitting there and they are taught and told what to believe. They are passive from the very beginning, and one must be very, very aggressive intellectually to have a high IQ […] the child is taught. Right from the beginning, it’s a passive process. He or she sits there, and they simply try to believe everything they’re told.”

Most interesting. I like the way her mum told her “I am not here to entertain you, you should go out and find the answer” to encourage investigation. This is a graeat way to encourage learning though it might not work on all kids.

Yes, you are right. These are very interesting. Kids should have some freedom to do the things on their own. But,sometimes too much freedom makes them as stubborn. I have read some interesting learning activities for kids that all parents have a look at this article: http://www.momjunction.com/articles/engaging-educational-activities-kids_0086041/
