If it is not too late we would like to participate in the postcard exchange…
Skylark: I still haven´t received any reply-postcard from you. Are you positive they were really sent out now?
Other members: Am I the only one missing Skylark´s answer? i.e. could the problem have been with the post service at my end?
Would really appreciate it if the fellow BK members who said they wanted to do the postcard exchange send out their postcards please as I am still missing 3 out of 9 postcard exchanges
Thank you.
Hhhhmmm. After communication with several individuals I am regularly exchanging postcards with, it has been my experience (both on the sending end and on the receiving end!) that postcards in particular seem to be problematic. I even had one show up more than seven weeks later, with the postmark to prove it lol
I am not quite sure what the deal is, but I have found a couple of things that help!
First off, send a quick email to the individual you are sending off a postcard to, then they can quickly let you know it arrived safely! Tis way no one is left aggravated, frustrated, or feeling left out, especially through mail issues!
The other thing I have done: if a postcard doesn’t show up, I have borrowed Mandab’s idea of a simple card in an envelope. You can still send postcards in an envelope as well, and randomly, it is often more inexpensive than sending a postcard!? This makes me wonder if postcards are problematic for post offices to sort? Not to mention I have had them arrive torn, mangled, and filthy lol
Last but not least, if you didn’t receive your expected postcard from someone, send them a gentle PM! Don’t let it fester, as I truly believe everyone here has the best of intentions! We don’t want hard feelings over an oversight, lost mail, etc
Lastly, if anyone has not received at least one Postcard from me after arrangements were made, PLEASE don’t be afraid to let me know
Yes Me too!, I am happy to send out another few. I sent out quite a few (at least 10!) and I would not be in the least bit surprised to find out I forgot to include someone. I had so many addresses and names and I did them in 3 seperate lots over 2-3 weeks. PM me your address and I will send one  Jaykobs handwriting is getting quite good of late
I sent the cards because they were less than half the price of the psstcard! plus I found postcards really hard to get around here! As a bonus with an envelope is is easy to slip in something special. The post lady told me postcards take longer as they are not a priority, I was quite surprised she addmitted it to me! She told me a story of one that took 12 years to get from Africa to my local post office…and the person AMAZINGLY still has the same PO BOX and recieved their card! lol
i also checked with our post office and found out postcards would cost me more as postcards than if i put few in an envelope and send . Also because i really wanted to send more than one to a family . i hope the ones i sent arrived . I also didn’t here from the other side if they receieved them or not . Manda ?? did you get anything from Gambia ??

Hi
I agree that we should send private messages first with a gentle reminder and before frustation builds up that other members don´t live up to their promises…
Of course I have done so and have sent PMS to ALL the members whose postcards are still missing a while ago, so they very well know who they are and whose postcards I haven´t received. However I didn´t get replies to all my PMs, 2 out of 3 replied yes, but 1 is consistently ignoring my PMs
Bella, in case you wonder, I can confirm publicly as well that I have received your postcards. But I think you already know that from our private PMs, so this public reminder is really not intended for you. You even sent me 3 postcards which was really nice of you and for which I want to say thank you again!!!
Sure did Bella! We got multiple postcards from you and my kiddies loved it we still have most of our postcards, but a few were cut up for an art/ geography lesson lol
I vote we all inundate earlylearning17 with postcards again, just to make sure her kiddies get LOADS of mail  I don’t want anyone feeling left out or ignored.
Hi all,
I am from Singapore and I have 2 kids (5 and 9 years old).
We would like to join this postcard exchange if it is not too late.
Thanks!
Chionh
Hi, no one requested a postcard from me when I posted a couple of months ago… so I guess I was a little bit thick lol & so I’m to PM people & give them my address & then they very kindly reciprocate… I get it. Now I’m going to get excited about receiving our postcards
& I even figured out how to PM multiple people
Thanks to those who have already replied!
OK - I have to admit defeat…we received 4 postcards ages and ages ago. However, I misplaced them before we could reply. I have searched and searched the house to no avail. Worst of all, I don’t even know who the postcards were from. I am very sorry to those who took the time to send us the cards & have been waiting for a reply.
Bella, please send me your email in a PM. I need to contact you but can no longer find it!
Many thanks to everybody for their latest postcards and the continued interest in exchanging them every new season, they always bring lots of excitment and even renewed interest in writing javascript:void(0)
I just found this post, I do the same thing with my friends when they travel, I get them to send postcards to my daughter. She has three so far from China, Antarctica and Amsterdam.
I don’t mind sending postcards to anyone i think its a great idea, so PM if you would like a postcard from NEW ZEALAND!
Love, love, love this idea! I’m in too!
My Girly loves the mail as well! What a fun way to teach geography and share cultures! Please PM me if you would like to exchange postcards.
I’d love to join in too. Please pm me if you’d like a postcard from Canada:)
Hi all
I did not want to open another thread, as it could ‘complement’ this one.
I’m looking for 1 or 2 penpals for my daughter, who would be her age (4)
She does not write nicely enough on her own but she loves tracing the lettters that I write for her and the whole process of decorating them, adding stickers, pictures of herself, puting a stamp on the envelope, mailing it…
Send me a PM if you want to be in touch…
I just thought I would bump this thread… we’re still interested in exchanging postcards, we have a nice collection so far so PM me if you would like one from Panama.
Hi everyone,
Sorry I haven’t been posting lately. We found out Cayden is legally blind. He has nystagmus often called wobbly eyes I call it dancing eyes. He will have surgery Feb. 27th and is otherwise flourishing in French, Mandarin and Spanish thanks to the foundation the Little Reader programs have given him.
I was wondering if anyone is still participating in the postcard exchange or would like to start or give it a go again. I have a friend in London who runs a daycare who is interested and so is Cayden.
Now that some of our kids are getting older I was thinking they could write in languages they are learning or even writing prompts to each other. Start drawing a picture and have the other finish then send it back.
Thanks in advance
Melanie
Melanie I am sending you a PM.
