Out of intrest, How many of you are left handed? or have left handed children?

Kimba, I’ve never heard that saying before… kackihanded. I know of Southpaw and Mollydooka.
And to all…this thread has been on here before, I’d bring in the references if I could, but I’m quite an ignoramus at using this site and Little Reader.

Im RH donot know abt my son yet.My hubby is LH.

When I was on my preschool years i remember that I only use my left hand to write, draw and color.
When I was on my elementary years, I remember my teacher asked me to write a paragraph on the
board. I found it hard to stroke each letter using my left hand when writing on the blackboard so
I tried to hold the chalk using my right hand and tried to write. From then on, I can write using my left
or my right hand.

Also, someone wrote that left-handed people's brains work backwards?? Does that mean he will have a problem with the reading we're teaching now? Should I look for certain learning problems/disabilities and try to correct them early?
Don't worry about that. I can't remember I had a problem learning anything.

Heard that if we use our left hand then our right brain gets activated

I am right handed, my family is all right handed but my daughter is showing signs of Left handedness. My mum and my father in law keep telling me to put everything in her right hand but my hubbie and I believe in giving her a choice. So she can use whichever hand she is comfortable with. I dont know why people have such a problem with people being left handed. Is it just because it is different? Some people care too much about such things…

I personally really like being left handed. Its great except when it comes to actual writing, lol. I think its important to let the child choose which hand they would like to use. Don’t worry about your family the just grew up being told that ‘left hadedness’ is wrong, they will soon get over it. My family did and they told my mum the same thing put it in her right hand. It never worked.
