Our Olympic activities

The Olympics is such a beautiful event uniting countries across the globe and even though Cayden is a little young I wanted him to have some type of experience with this event. I decided to recreate some of the competitions. I used masking tape with start here written on it and showed him how to toss a paper plate to imitate a discus throw. He has been interested in inches after hearing a story made up by daddy about how many inches an inchworm will crawl to get to school. So we measured the distance with a tape measure in inches and he helped me record them on the score board. I picked up some medals at the party supply store that we will use at the end of our events. Her are a few more examples of some stuff we have done.
For the javelin throw we used straws and pool noodles.
For the shot put we used soft balls
For boxing he battled his inflatable rock and rattle pal zebra
Gymnastics we cleared off his playroom floor and he set a record for himself bouncing on the toddler trampoline. Made a balance beam and of course let him tumble and do his rolls.
