Oh that makes me giggle! So how are you going to ensure your accuracy next time? There seems to be a lot of variables in measuring a ballon full of water. If she understands the concept of mass you could put the whole ballon into a litre jug of water ( submerged) mark the water level. Then freeze it, put the balloon into the water again and mark the new ( now higher) water level.
You might need to practice this using different sized rocks until she understands that bigger things displace more water. Hours of fun there! Good luck for round 2!
