NYT Article-"How to Raise A Prodigy"

An interesting read in the NY Times with discussions of various prodigies and the environments/circumstances that fostered their success…
One of the most resounding constants? almost all insist that their success would never have been feasible without opportunities to grow/bechallenged/fostered/encouraged by their parents and mentors.
Also, ALL of them were given a great, EARLY start.
Sound familiar anyone?! lol

Best. Line. Ever. lol

One prodigy I interviewed switched from the violin to the piano when she was 7. She offered to tell me why if I didn’t tell her mother. “I wanted to sit down,” she said.

That was a good read. I was expecting a quick newspaper clip but surprisingly it had some depth about it!
TMT you know I gave up the flute as a teenager because I couldn’t talk and play at the same time! Lol

Thanks Keri. It’s a great read.

Funny!

I have heard of several people who switched from violin to cello (or piano) so they could sit down. Other’s switched from piano (or cello) to violin so they could stand up and move around.
