Mature behavior in children

Parents who have fallen into to the habit of paying attention to their children when they display undesirable behavior often have a hard time changing their attention to agreeable behavior, a simple procedure can help them do this:

Be on the alert for behavior that indicates growing maturity: taking disappointment calmly, performing spontaneous acts of kindness and demonstrating an interest in learning. When you see this kind of grow-up behavior, make a mental note of it.

I have learned these lessons watching my sister raise her children -some very bad habits formed for placing attention on inappropriate behavior (i.e. laughing at gross or rude gestures, etc.) …not sure how she’s going to turn it around! Thank you for sharing!
