Location of Encyclopedic Knowledge Collaborations?

Is the Encyclopedic Knowledge Collaborations noted below, the same as the PowerPoint Slideshow Library found in the Free Downloads section? If not, where is it located? I’ve clicked on the original links to no avail, unless I’m just missing it. Thank you!

Hello again,

I have noticed that a few people have read this post but that no one has commented. Does that mean that no one knows the answer to my original question, or does it mean that my question(s) were confusing?

Just wondered if the ppt presentations found under the Free Downloads tab are the same as the EK collaborations that people were working on as noted in this link: http://forum.brillkids.com/index.php?topic=9354.0.

It appears that at one point, a group of people were working on a collection of Encyclopedic Knowledge, yet I don’t see that category under the Free Downloads tab. If they are different from the regular ppt presentations, are they located somewhere else? If so, where would that be?

Thank you!!

Here is the Board for EK, there was some discussion and some collaboration.

Possibly those who were doing it got a bit busy with other projects  , but fair amount of materials was created at that point – you can find these in Free LR downloads EK section:

http://forum.brillkids.com/downloads/?cat=74

There are 190 EK lessons there.

There also EK lessons in other sections of free LR downloads.

In addition you can also ask members who were involved in collaboration and see if they will have some additional materials to share. And of course you can revive discussion there! As parents of little children we always go through stages – stages of involvement with different projects, stages of interest ( what our Little Ones are interested at the moment) and with such a large on line community of fellow parents, there is a high chance you will find a few who would like to collaborate on a project together with you! I would say – give it a try!

Hope this helps.

Thank you ! That’s what I’ve been looking for, but couldn’t find for some reason.

I downloaded a couple of them into my trial version of LR and they don’t seem to be any different than the ppt presentations available in the Free Downloads section. What I mean is that there’s a word and a picture; doesn’t EK include various facts as well?

Sharpie,

I think it depends on presentation. Different parents did presentations in different formats. Some are done so with each time you see it, it would play different fact for each picture. Some are just a collection of random facts in succession. I would say you will need to preview them, and chose which ones you would like to use.

Also the beauty of LR is that you can create your own presentations very easily. If you do, please share them with us! I am sure other parents would appreciate it!

Okay, thank you!

Not sure yet if I’m going to buy LR yet, (still using the trial version), so it may be a moot point since it appears that the presentations only work in LR.

Thanks again.

That is right, these lessons are done to be used with LR.

Once you have LR, it is lifetime membership and you are able to use it with as many children as you want for as long as you want

Good to know, thank you!
