Life after Math dots to continue right Brain Education

There has been much discussion on the early stages of Math development - namely using Math dots to teach Math, and possibly some of the Montessori techniques.

It has also been discussed that most kids are not able to see dots after aged 6 - and seem to lose the ability to see numbers in picture format.

So how should we teach maths other than simple Math dots?
As per one of my previous posts, I mentioned Dianne Craft. She sells products with what looks like an interesting technique. I have attached a picture of what some of her Math techniques looks like

Does anyone have any suggestions of how to teach Math OTHER than using dots?
