Kids in school are not really taught how to write.

My sister in law complained about her son not being taught to write. Her son is in Grade 4 and it seems the school does not focus on teaching children to write. The kids are now doing PowerPoint presentation or “type” their report. I actually am quite concerned when I heard that.

BTW, we live in Ontario, Canada . My son and his cousins are attending a Catholic school.

How about schools in your countries/provinces?

Do you mean write as in actually print neatly or constructing sentences and paragraphs?
My kids get taught both in surprisingly good way. They learn grammar. They learn cursive. They learn to write a report and the 5 paragraph pursuasive essay. I don’t think they learn enough about how to write good sentances. They are taught it but not enough to internalise it.
