Interactive Maps of the world! National Geog.

Ohh…I hope this link works for you! I’m so excited about this option for geography! I just stumbled across it and haven’t looked at it thoroughly yet, but this is a totally interactive mapping board. Pick any region and country. Choose your options from the thin menu column 2nd from the left (map elements, drawing tools, markers). Explore these!

Two fun things I just did was to select Canada,

  • draw a big old fat line around our border and stamp the word “Canada” all over it (in labels). My son will LOVE this!
  • pulled up an airport icon stuck it randomly on a country in Africa, put another one on Canada, went back to the area to draw lines, drew an arched line from one to another - looked cool - would be fun to draw a line each time you studied a different part of the world (good perspective)

There are icons for volcanoes, tornadoes, natural resources (cattle, trees, fisheries, etc)…

Anyway, it’s in Beta testing right now, so now’s the time to take a look and offer your thoughts!!!

Thanks! This is a great site! My daughter and I enjoyed playing with it too!

Another very good web to learn geography with interactive maps. http://mapasinteractivos.didactalia.net/comunidad/mapasflashinteractivos/Mapas#dc:language=english
