Thanks for sharing, Sonya. That guy reminded of Authur Benjamin, the mathemagician, that you’ve posted about in the ‘We Can Do’ thread. I don’t know whose feats are more impressive, Authur’s or his. His feats appear more impressive, in my limited opinion, and he does seem to use the same multiplication strategies that Authur uses. When he was doing those math calculations, I saw his hands move, like for Soroban. I don’t know if he’s used the soroban as a tool before.

Maybe PokerDad could chime in. He’s done some reading on historical human calculators, and I would be interested in hearing his comments.
