I have a range of different DVDs that I would like to play on my laptop. I have no problem playing them all on my DVD player (attached to the TV) as this is multiregion.
But my laptop will only play DVDs from the UK region and it says that I only have a limited number of times to change region (e.g. from UK to US) before it will permanently disable my DVD drive!!!
This is very frustrating as it is much easier to show DVDs on the laptop when we are eating meals etc (the TV is behind the table and I also like to show short clips from DVDs interspersed with LR etc) With the laptop I can just put it on the table in front of us. Having paid money for the DVDs, I would now like to be able to use them!
Does anyone know of a cheap (ideally free) way of getting around this. Someone recommended downloading VLC which I tried but has not helped so far.
