how do you make learning math fun?

My son lost his interest in dots, both cards and power point.
I could use some ideas on how to make math funny and interesting so my son will look forward to it.

I’m assuming that you don’t have LM? We have a huge library of icons available. You are sure to find icons that your son likes. plus, you can make your own very easily. You can also set LM to flash very fast. The faster, the better.

Do children learn quantity the same using a icon of a bird instead of a red dot?

I am really interested in the LM program.

nhockaday, I’d love to buy LM, the software for Macintosh isn’t available though so I have no choice but doing math with cards and power point

I talked with my husband about our problem, we came up with the idea of doing puppet shows with cards, this should be fun for my son :slight_smile:

Thanks KL but I do not want Windows in my apple, this is the main reason I bought Macintosh lol

I guess I have no choice but wait for an apple version of LM and continue with flashcards

This is a great idea! I had the same issue with my daughter and I though she didn’t like the dots, but actually the issue was that I wasn’t flasing the cards fast enough because I was flipping them to show her the actual number. I got the Doman Math Kit and my daughter is doing great. I also read in Doman’s boom and at first you don’t need to show them the number, so that is what I’m doing. So in this case it wasn’t the dots, it was mommy lol
