I am new on here and I am here to find the best tools and information so I can teach my child the things he needs to learn. I live in Alaska and my son is 3 1/2 months old. I found the infant black, white and red flash cards and just printed them tonight. I can’t wait to show them to him.
I am a stay at home mom and so I will be teaching my child as he grows and I feel stupid in saying this, but I don’t really know exactly where to begin or what age to teach him the right things. I talk with him and play with him all the time and we do belly time and play with toys, etc. I read to him even though he doesn’t understand me yet. But I just worry a little on if I am doing it right. I just want to teach my child the things he needs most and so that is why I am here. In hopes to find good learning tools for him in all aspects so he can grow to be smart, independant, loving, etc. All the things that you want your child to be.
So if anyone has any tips, secrets, tools, information to share with me or to point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it!

Do check out www.brillbaby.com , and in particular, look for the “Feeling Overwhelmed?” article, as well as the free ebook on teaching your baby to read.
Most of all, don’t worry! It seems like you’re doing a great job already!
I recommend the Doman books. They have inspired and guided me since before my son was born. Honestly they were the best child rearing books I have bought, and can be picked up quite cheaply second-hand on line(except usually swimming and physical excellence). They have step by step guidance in reading, math, physical excellence, swimming and encyclopedic knowledge, and their format is so adaptable to the little learner software it really provides a great framework to follow.
It seems that you are already on the right track and you seem to be very enthusiastic which is very important. Make your lessons fun and your child will enjoy it just as much as you will.
My name is Valerie and I live in Malta. Nice meeting you!
