I am so excited that I found this forum. Any other English speaking Moms or Dads trying to teach their young kids French? Would love to hear what is working for you. Am looking forward to trying out the BK program with my 3 year old.
Do you speak French yourself? If you need help for anything I’d be happy to help !
Thanks for the offer! Yes, I took many years of French at school and live there for a year - but I am not fluent enough to say whatever I want correctly on the fly, so I am being more methodical about it and focusing on a few words/expressions each week and so far it’s working…
I am trying to teach my son French!!! We live in Canada but don’t speak French at all.
I have been using LR to teach my son French. I don’t know how much he learns as our lessons are not that consistant.
He did pick up several French words (and so did I). lol
I also used Little Pim French. My son likes the DVDs but not as much as he does LR.
I am planning on teaching French, Spanish, Italian, German and Irish - no pressure! I am not fluent in any of these languages. I used to speak French and Irish quite well, although I have forgotten most of it. I am gathering resources at the moment and I am hoping to start with one of these languages next week. I’m not too sure where to start, probably just with some music CDs to begin with. aangeles gave some excellent recommendations on another thread (I would link to it, but I have no idea how to do that yet!). I’m hoping to graduate to using LR but that will take me some time.
