Hi! First time mother of 13mth old daughter. NEED HELP! HAVE QUESTIONS!

Hi!!! My name is Mia and I recently joined because I saw a video of a very cute little girl reading at such a young age. I immediately became interested. I’ve downloaded little reader and have shown a couple of the slides to my daughter. I also downloaded and printed some of the flash cards. I’m just not sure I’m doing it right. I’ve shown her the “colors” slideshow and she seems very interested. I just have a load of questions.
1: Should I just stick to the “colors” 3 times a day for 10 days or can I show her other ones as well?
2: Do I have to wait for her to say the words until I continue onto a new subject?
3: Where can I find signs for the “colors” subject and other subjects as well?
4: Is 10 minute sessions too much or too little?
I think I’m doing fine by just showing the flash cards to her and pronouncing the words, but I’m not exactly sure.

That link should help answer some questions. I recommend showing more than just colors, and I would set the playback on random. This will add variety and keep your daughter interested. I play several categories a day, 3 times per day.

You do not need to wait for her to say the words. How old is your daughter? It may take several months for her to say the words. This link should help. http://forum.brillkids.com/little-reader/evaluation/ I would go ahead and play other categories too, and then go back to ones previously played every once in a while.

By signs, I’m assuming you mean sign language? Here is a thread we have for sign language http://forum.brillkids.com/general-discussion-b5/signing-with-your-child/. If you have questions about sign language that aren’t addressed there, you can ask, and we will try our best to answer.

Welcome to the forums!
