Hello From the Philippines

Hello Everyone!

I just downloaded the Beta version of Little Reader and I cant wait to show it to my 14 month old baby. Her name is Lila. Before I came across the link for brillkids, I would download images of the words i wanted my baby to learn form the internet and it was a tedious job to do. But Lila loves to spend time (not that long though) sitting on my lap and watching the pictures on the computer.

I believe this beta program will be so much easier. Im so excited to use it! I’m sure Lila will love it.

Hi and welcome to the forums. It is great to have you here. I hope Lila likes Little Reader as much as my son does! And you’re right, it is much easier than making your own stuff. Please let us know if you have any questions about the program or the forums.
I hope to hear more from you!
Nikki

Hi Nikki!

A lil info about myself… -Im 28 years old and a full time mom (for now) and I love playing with my daughter. She tires me out most of the time. I don’t know how to keep up with her! It seems as though my baby never gets tired!

I wish I knew about this site earlier when my baby was younger. I think she might have learned faster and it would have been easier for me and my husband too…My husband is so interested in early education for our baby, he printed those black and white shapes and patterns for me even before Lila was born! He also got Classic Baby Beethoven and 2 other CD’s that he made me listen to when i was still pregnant and we also played them for Lila when she was sleeping or bathing. He would read to her even when she was only weeks old and it carried on until she was 3 months old. He believes that babies can understand. I also tried to teach Lila sign language and she made her first sign of “down” (meaning she wanted to go downstairs) when she was 9 months old. But she hasn’t learned any new signs yet. :frowning:

I have stumbled upon Dot Math. I don’t know how to use it tho.I was wondering if anyone could help me out with that. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could give me any tips or teach me how its supposed to be taught to a 14 month old baby… Or how it works…

This site is the greatest!!! I’m new here and I’m loving it already!

Thanks in advance!!!

You sound a lot like me. My son is 9 months old and demands most of my time!
Don’t worry, it’s not too late to use Little Reader and this site for advice. She’s still young, and it sounds like you guys are doing a great job so far! You’re lucky that your husband is so involved in her early education. Gabriel’s father leaves that all up to me, and I find myself having to explain why I do what I do. He doesn’t even read stories to Gabriel! :frowning:

As far as the number dots, there is a Doman book about teaching your baby math. I think that’s where they originated. Here is what Martina has posted : http://forum.brillkids.com/general-discussion-b5/question-on-doman’s-math/msg2664/#msg2664. She explains how to use the program, and I’m sure she will help you if you have any questions. Also, did you know that we have number dots available in the math section of the downloads? Martina has uploaded them in sets of 5 to go along with the Doman program.

Hi everyone! Please visit the Philippines board so you guys can all have a chat with each other! [And don’t forget to place a vote in the poll I made there!]
