Welcome to Brillkids! I’m from SA too, Johannesburg.
We have all 3 BK apps, but the one we use most is Little Reader. After one year of LR, my 2 year old is not reading yet, but he has learnt to speak English very well, even though his environment is mostly Afrikaans. I also use LR to teach other subjects and my son loves it. He never really took to Little Math, and he watches Little Musician every day, but it usually costs a little bribery - “We can watch LR as soon as LMusic is done.”
Other than tons of vocabulary words, Wilhelm has learn quantities and counting up to 10 both in English and Afrikaans from LMath, he can occasionally name notes on LMusic, and he has recognized many words that he learnt from LR. He knows lots of animals, people, country flags, dog breeds, etc etc, that I’ve downloaded from the Library. He’s no wiz, but he’s doing well and it’s a good start.

Thrilled to see people from my homeland!! I am now in THousand Oaks, CA, USA but my mom lives in Umhlanga. I have tried so hard for my family in SA to take on this lifestyle but they have it to easy and are not interested! So excited that you guys are onboard, if there is anything anything I can do to help please let me know. I have a 7yr DS who I have been doing this with since birth and a 3yr DS. Great chatting!!
