I just thought I would mention a book that I am currently reading. I guess it is aimed at children who are approximately 10 years old, but I am 30 and hooked. You could also read it to a younger child. The book is called The word spy (Australian version). I think there is a US version called The word snoop. It presents information about the English language and how it came about in a witty and fun way. Below is a link to the Author’s website where you can find further information. Anyway, I felt compelled to share as I am enjoying it so much and learning heaps of interesting facts along the way.
