Good Songs with "Do Re Mi?"

I have been showing my daughter “Do Re Mi” from the Sound of Music and Scales and Arpeggios from the Aristocats on Youtube. Does anyone know of other children’s songs like those that include the Solfege names? Also, can someone more musical than me confirm that in both of those songs the “Do” is C? It sounds like it to me, but I’m not sure.

I also found “Whacky Do Re Mi” by MooToobMoosic on Youtube.

I’ve used these videos:

Also, this is the Sound of Music where Do is actually C (in many versions it is not!)

Hope that helps!

'We love those songs too! The aristocats one has “Do” on “C#”, which doesn’t bother me one bit because I’m teaching my kids movable do. Technically with fixed do, any C, whether it is C, C#, Cb, or even C## and Cbb would all be “Do”, so by that standard it should still be fine. I attached another song I like that goes along these lines that has Do on C. There are also all of the melodies in Little Musician. We really love The Little Solfege Song.

I bought this music collection for my lovely younger brother . The collection name is “61 SONGS KIDS REALLY LOVE TO SING” .

Marlita made video form Little Musician and Soft Mozart:

Thanks for all the helpful comments guys! I will probably hold off on showing my daughter the Aristocats song now that I know that Do is C#. Those videos are great. By the way, there’s another Whacky Do Re Mi song on Youtube that uses the same colors for the notes as LMs, so I’ve been showing that one to her.

Here’s a good one teaching how to play several nursery rhymes and Do Re Mi from the Sound of Music on a Xylophone (same colors as LMs)

And this is the Whacky Do Re Mi with the same colors as LMs

This is the Sound of Music Do Re Mi with Do Re Mi representing C, D, and E on a light up staff. The colors are also LM colors although the the “ti” could be a bit more hot pinkish than it is. She has two other videos up also. Can anyone with perfect pitch tell me if she is in fact singing on key? I’m pretty much tone deaf!

Here’s the link (sorry I don’t know how to put the video directly in the post).

She’s singing in tune with herself, but it’s in A major. (I don’t have perfect pitch, just a handy glockenspiel.) That wouldn’t bother me if the video didn’t show the staff with the notes written in C! Oh well. I don’t know why the video didn’t work, when I post videos I just paste in the address and it’s automatic. Your address was correct. Weird.

Thank you so mu for replying so quickly! So she IS singing on one note but showing another on the staff? Thanks for letting me know because it was gong to be my “go to” song to play! That stinks!

Came across this “Do Re Mi Medley” today (Sound of Music song), but I have no idea if it is in C Major or not.

And this one is a bit cheesy but it’s catchy and fun.

Both are in C.

PS, I figured out why we sometimes get a YouTube address and other times it’s an embedded video. It’s the “http://” part of the address. Take that off and start with “www” and the video will embed itself.

Today (“AppFriday”) there is a sale on the app DoReMi 1-2-3. (follow today’s link - it is the last one on the list). It looks like it could be fun. I’m installing it as I type  We shall see.

Is this Twinkle Twinkle Little Star in C?

On a side note, this page is interesting.

Apparently what I’m looking for is an “Isaac Newton Color Scale” according to the chart on the page.

Yes, it is in C, and shows the notes correctly.

Thanks! Adding it to my list. Found these too:

These videos are apparently related to an IPad app by DreamEnglishKids called Play Sing & Share.
