Felt Food Making

Who would have thought making or purchasing felt foods, toys, etc. Well as a child my mom would make most of all of my toys, I wish only that I had her patterns now, but anyway for those of you who do sew a little I have found some websites that will help us create or buy the kits or the already created felt food for our LO’s. I am conduction an experiement on a techniques of introducing play food in my curriculum, yes I know real food is the best, but for teaching a toddler I like to use different textures, photos, real life, and still life objects.
I will be adding more websites as I find them, and yes I will add my patterns as well as soon as I create them. To get ideas here is a site to start with, and if anyone else has any great patterns that you would like to share please do, or if you have a website that you would like to add for felt food making or toy making please do.

I have made some felt food (sandwiches, burgers, fruits etc) for my toddler, and drew inspiration from the following photo sites. I agree that LillyBean’s food is amazing.

He loves to pretend to eat it, but his favourite thing is to throw the strawberries around!

What about felt toys for boys too. I just got to thinking that I have boys and yes they too can play with cutting food, and etc but what about felt cars, trucks, and farm house scenes, etc. Well I have making some patterns so look for them soon for boys and girls. Also we are working on making a dress up felt doll kit for girls and boys and Biblical scene story boards. I will try to post some soon.

Just wanted everyone to know that I am composing felt food, toys on to a website. I will have some free patterns, and a lot of resources and ideas for felt food, toys, games, books, and storyboards. And if you want to add any pictures of your felt food or felt crafts PM me or visit the upcoming website http://pennyfelts.yolasite.com BY THE WAY WE ARE DOING THIS FOR A MINISTRY not for a business. Our teen co-op group is helping put together the site and creating some of the felt food to display to distribute to the needy families in our ministry areas in KY and OH for the holidays.

I just have posted new photos of some of our felt creations. Check it out!

That site no longer is operational, so here is the new on http://rolom.yolasite.com and there is a video and 2 other posts regarding felt and felt food as well http://forum.brillkids.com/mgallery/?sa=item;id=1881
