DadDude's youtube videos

I just thought you all should know about this if you don’t yet. It’s a gem in my opinion…or rather “HE’S a gem.” This gem goes by the name of Larry Sanger. Google his name and the word “video”. You will find many videos of a learned and distinguished looking man giving eloquent speeches, but you will also find several valuable EK videos to use with your little ones.

This is how my discovery came about: We were watching a cute little video on landforms by “The Obies” and over on the temptation menu (you know the videos that show up on the right hand side that your child says repeatedly “Can we watch that one next?” “Can we watch that one?” “How about that one?”, etc.) was a video about landforms by Mr. Larry Sanger. I said with excitement “Hey! That’s my friend!” (Larry if you’re reading this, I hope you’re good with that presumptuous term…aren’t all of us BrillKids parents kind of like friends? I know we’d never recognize each other, but you’re all so valuable to me and my sense of community!) Anyway, the point is that we watched it and it was great…and then we watched another one – Part two – also great.

I know that there are tonnes of videos out there on various EK topics, but frankly, I don’t have time to sift through them all. So, now when we begin a new unit of study, I google Larry’s name first. I know I can trust the info that he communicates through it down to the pronunciations of the terms he uses. I know it is excellent quality and I don’t have to search any further for “just the right one”!

Thank you, Larry, for sharing your hard work! I appreciate and happily use it to benefit my son’s learning!

You are making DadDude blush. You can also thank my anonymous Memphis benefactor, who also funded Reading Bear and WatchKnowLearn. This gig may be coming to an end, however, and I might be seeking to start up my own, very first dot com (I’ve started many dot orgs but no dot coms). I have hardly any time to make new stuff for E. as I did for H. One last thing I might be able to do in this gig is write a series of e-readers to go with the 50 Reading Bear presentations. But it doesn’t depend on me.

I DIDN´T KNOW ABOUT WatchKnowLearn… THANKS A LOT AGAIN, YOU MAKE IT EASY FOR ALL PARENTS OUT THERE TRYING TO DO THEIR BEST IN EDUCATING CHILDREN.

This morning, at breakfast, I showed my son parts 1 & 2 of Larry’s 4 part videos on Space. Not two seconds in, my son asked “Is this one of Mr. Sanger’s shows?” I think he’d recognize Larry’s voice sooner than some of his uncles!
