I don’t know. It’s worth looking into though. They may have made it safer over the years too.

Hi there,

Yes chalk is a little messy, especially if it gets stood on!!! I do find the dust free chalk pretty good. Look it’s not as if they are using them for hours on end, perhaps a few minutes at a time a couple of times a day… My son prefers them to colouring pencils and often uses them to colour his paper pictures - I have taught him how to rub it afterwards to give it a different look and he’s got quite good at that. Just the other day though while I was clearing out, I came across some chalk pastels that I’d forgotten about. So I hauled them out and now he’s using those as well. He likes the stronger colours in the pastel chalks. They don’t work well on the blackboard though… If you’re worried about the dust nohayo perhaps you’d prefer to put up a white marker board - I think that’s the name of it. And then use the specialised markers that go with them. You’d have to screw it to the wall or something to keep it firm, but it would do the same job.

I read a story about a mom who got told by her daughter that their youngest son had written on the wall. She had a fit and yelled at him before inspecting the damage. When she went to go and clean up, she discovered that he had drawn a heart and his mom next to it. She felt terrible and hung an empty picture frame around it and never did clean it off. So perhaps if your child does draw some amazing picture you could do the same!

do any of you ladies rent? I would love to be able to allow my boys the freedom to draw on a given wall but we rent and will not own our own place for many years to come. WE are military and will be moving around a lot. do you all know if there are “moveable” walls that I could put up and take down each time we move. HHMM maybe we could make one… well thanks for the craft site those are great. cj

Can’t you just paint over a wall that has been colored on before you move? My cousin had all her friends draw on her living room wall in her first house. They just painted over it in the same color before they moved out.

Hubby just does not want to have to do that before we leave. For those to do allow your kids to draw on the walls how do they do when you go to others houses? Do they still try and draw on the walls? Thanks for the help
