Could I skip Simulation Cards for 4-month old?

Hello everybody

I have a 4-month old niece. My sister has started her on some singing videos and she recognises the songs in there. Whenever the video is on, she will concentrate watching the video. And, whenever we sing the songs from the video ,she will respond by looking through our eyes, bursting into laughter or even start to “talk” ahhhhh… (a high-pitched ahhhh actually).

My question here is should I start her with b&w simulation cards or could I skip it for her as she seems “simulated” enough ? Could I just proceed to the flashcards ? I have tried the simulation and flashcards. She is more interested in me flipping and dropping the simulation cards than the cards. As for the flashcards on Little Reader, she will watch it.

Appreciate any suggestions

Sure, skip them. The high-contrast b&w is more for younger infants. 4 months is the perfect age to start flash cards.

Thanks for the advice, nhockaday! 8)

Agreed with Nikki!

You should led the child lead you by what she’s interested in.
