Confused on how to use YBCR, Doman, and LR together

I have been consuming all this information and am halfway through the Doman, How to Teach Your Baby to Read book and now I am getting confused how I am going to use it with YBCR. YBCR seems to be a lot slower learning words than Doman teaches and YBCR exposes the words a lot longer than Doman reccomends. Has anyone used both reading methods at once successfully?

I know nhockaday is using both. She shows YCBR at a different time than little reader, that’s all. check these two links:

Please remember, like many things, it’s not an either/or situation. Use all methods! The more variety the better!

I use YBCR once a day usually when my son has just arisen and is still waking up. He sits on the couch drinking milk and watching the video. This is kind of embarrassing to admit but for the doman word cards we show them when he is on the toilet. There is nothing else to take his attention so he focuses better. Then in addition we read at least 3 books a day though usually many more with my finger trailing under the words. He still is not reading fluently but he recognizes words and letters and is definitely getting there.

My daughter is using Little Reader and Doman type flashcards although recently I have taken to sticking them on the wall and showing her when we pass them during the day (she also has some in the bathroom that she only sees once a day at bath time) They are just two different things for me that are teaching the same thing.

We have to go to the computer to start Little Reader so I make sure I fit that in at appropriate times during the day and show whichever playlists I choose for that day - usually we have one or two sessions a day with up to 6 playlists in one session (up to about 50 words) I show her about 3 sets of 5 words each with the flashcards (they are stuck in various rooms in the house) If she asks for them during the day then I’ll read them to her then too.

If I did have YBCR I would simply show her the video once or twice a day too. I don’t think you have to make the methods match each other (ie you can teach different words with each method) and see which your child prefers or learns better. He’s going to learn from all the methods anyhow.
