color blind?

my son is 22 months old.
he is a fast learner. he can remember most of the lessons that we taught him.
he amazed us most of the time because he can still recall the things that we taught him
months ago.
but one thing bothers us. he can’t remember colors.
he knows the name of the colors but can’t identify them.
for example he will say, ‘Yellow’ but he is pointing on green.

what should we do? do you know any specialist for this kind?
do you know any therapy that might work?

thanks!

I would talk to his doctor. They have easy tests that they can administer to tell if he is colorblind.

Hi there, you’ll have to get it checked out by a doctor - don’t panic though it’s quite common. In my husbands family most of the boys have it. It does seem like there are different degrees to it. Like one of them is totally and another one gets two colours mixed up.

Our optometrist check for colour blindness during every routine eye exam. There are varying degrees. DH can tell the difference between red & blue but can not tell one shade of blue from another. It is also more common in boys than girls.
