Is there no cloud based system of LR so you don’t have to download the program, you can just get a username and password? This is more current.

If by “cloud-based” system you mean a web-version where you can simply just sign in with an account - we’re sorry, but our programs do not work that way. 
For us to create our programs as such, we will have to remove many - if not all - of the customization features made possible only because the program is built as an installed software.
I think that it’s technically feasible if all we want to offer is a curriculum to watch over the web (no lesson creation, no customization, no editing). We are looking into this as a separate thing to offer in the future (not the near future though), so if this is something you might be interested in, do chime in. Who knows, with enough demand, perhaps we can make a feasibility study to see if we can develop our products in such a format.
