Cheapest method of shipping?

I want to place an order for some books from US to Europe. Which is the cheapest method of shipping?

Direct order through the seller (But I have observed that each seller charges different shipping rates for the same type of product like DVD)
Place an order through one of my friends in US and ask her to ship it to Europe

shipping rates are always higher than the product rates :ohmy:
Any thoughts???

Use your friend. I think alot of these places charge ‘extra’ for the shipping to make a few extra bucks.

FedEx Ground or UPS Ground will almost always be cheaper than USPS.
